Hello!!!
I am looking at buying an #1 aermore exhuast whistle ,
My question is,, it has two slots cut in the side at the top of one of the brass tubes, can anyone tell me if the slots are original or has it been modified?
If it has been modified how much is it worth, and will it work properly?
I can get it for 100
Need to know by today thanks !
Thank you

that exhaust clamp does not appear to be the Model A type. It looks more like a universal one that fits in a cut tail pipe. The one on ebay is a Model A type...note the flange for the exhaust manifold.

I've had two sizes of these exhaust whistles. I was told the small size was for Model T's and the larger size was for Model A's. I got real lucky at Iola a few years ago and found the smaller size for $10. Before I could get back to my car with it, the guy who told me about the two sizes just had to have it and paid me enough so I could go buy the larger size and have a few bucks left over.

To get a real good sound you do need to floor the engine some.

how true. A 4 banger at idle makes an Aermore sound more like the chirp of some mechanical lunch whistle. Without flooring it in a parade it falls flat. Now put one on a Buick straight 8, that's a train whistle. But a 4 banger will sound great through an Aermore when passing someone at 40mph, and that almost always gets a smile.

I received the aermore exhaust whistle today it looks pretty good, a little loose but overall it's good for the age. Thanks for the info!!!
