I stand 6'4" and was thinking of putting in the track and adjuster to
move the seat back on the bucket seats in my car just to give me some more leg room!
Anyone done this to their Car? is there a better product from one to the other,
pro's or con's, suggestions on what accessory maybe to get?

Thanks
Allen

That was done to mine before I purchased it. Looks like old hardware was removed. Angle iron (maybe 1"x1" bolted to floor with horizontal holes every 1 1/2" or so. Bottom of seat drilled and bolted to angle iron, original rests in the back. This spring I raised the seat about 3" using straight iron stock. Doesn't look out of place. FWIW
Paul in CT You could also do a search as this has been covered before.

Did you try turning the front post around? If you look they came pointing forward, turn it around and you will get almost 4 inches more room. If they are already to the back, use some 1/4x 1 inch stock, make two longer ones, and drill a hole to match the seat cleveses, put one or two spacers in the middle, you can move the seat as far bach as you want.

I have done a couple of them. Go to a junkyard and get a beat up bucket seat from an older car and take the slide-adjustment mech. from it and narrow it and add some 1x1x1/8 angle iron cross pieces with holes drilled to match the mounting holes thru the subframe crossmember, add some brackets at the back to support the short legs, and some brackets at the front to pin the pivot brackets. And you have an adjustable seat tha in my tudor can move 6" fore and aft. I does raise the seat about 1 1/2".

When I got my car (30 2 door) it had adjustable seats from a 31.
I kept those but installed 2 seats from a Honda Prelude. They came with tracks that were a 15 minute job to adapt. The Honda seats are 6 way adjustable.
They have about 4 inches of travel on the tracks but the tracks can be mounted as far back as you require.

I have a track that both raises the front of the seat about 2 inches (adjustable) and rearwards about 3 inches and find that it works great for me. I believe these are available from the parts dealers. Mine was in the car when I purchased it several years ago. AL

I bought a set of adjusters from my neighbor and he thought they came out of a Jeep. I had to do a little fabricating but they hardly show and they give a full six inches of adjustment. It is also real handy when working around the dash area, I don't have to take the seats out for room to work.

Easiest way to do it, that looks kind of stock is to simply use the 1931 Deluxe Tudor seat racks and adjuster.

These work well and it is easy.

All of these items are what you need and they will install with just a few holes being drilled- no other mods. They are all in stock and easy to get as well.

Brattons or Snyders sells the front posts with a longer offset, probably an inch or more longer than stock, easy to change.
