I used the search function and could not find an answer. Were there accessory driving or fog lights available in the aftermarket for Model A's? Any particular types? Any photos?

Thanks, js

Ck out my avitar. These are orig Ford, but most likely from the late 30's early 40's. I'm using them as front signal lights.

I have a pair that I still need to install, they are still made by Unity in Chicago. Since they are "sealed beam" units, as Paul said, they stem from late 30's - early 40's. I have seen a lot of period pictures of A's with fog lights.

I have a pair mounted for two reasons 1) they were cheap 2) they make a great warning for drivers who are attempting a left hand turn in front of me. A couple flashes usually mesmerizes them and they stay put until I go by.
Oh one more, ever since I put them on it hasn't been foggy enough to use them!

Thanks for the responses. I have a set of the British Lucas flame throwers on another of my early cars and they look period correct, however I haven't really seen anything that I think would look all that great on the front of my speedster. While I can find numerous photos of British autos from the mid to late 1930s with auxiliary driving lights, I have not been able to find any pics of Model A's. Duesenbergs yes, but no model A's.

Anyone have any close up pics of their lights or recommendations for what may have been available prior to WWII?

I have an original copy of "1929 FORD Owners Supply Book" that was a give away by Western Auto Supply Co. Shown available are various
styles (drum & bullet) and price ranges (black enamel, enamel & nickle or
chrome: $1.48 - $2.95 ea.) "Roadlights". They can be mounted under the headlights or any where at the front of the car. The size of the lights
is not listed, but the diagrams show them to be probably around 5-6 inches in diameter. The lenses are clear and flat. Ford did not officially
authorize fog or auxiliary lights until 1934 or '35 I beleive. They were made by Unity and had a Ford script imprinted in the top of the metal
light shell. After 1932 a lot of car headlight and fog/auxiliary light lenses
were no longer flat but convex, different color lenses became available
in the mid 30's and seal beam style bulbs came out in 1940.:)
