Accelerator rod disconnects at carb linkage

Accelerator rod will not stay connected at the joint w the carb rod on fire wall. This is the spring loaded short rod which slips on the ball of the carb rod. Could be major worn at the spring loaded sleeve or too great at angle. Opening through floor board looks to be too large.

probably worn linkage, although I have seen some linkages with the ball being worn almost to nothing
