Hi!
I need some help. I bought a accelerator pedal that should fits 57-64 ford cars (B7A-9735) but it not the same pedal in my 57. The new pedal got 2 small holes for a little pin but I have a small rod called accelerator pedal shaft (B7A-9727) in my car. Are there two different types or is mine not original?
Where can i find a new one that fits my car?

From the sound of it you have been sent a pedal for a 57/9. The 58 uses a pin for the accelerator arm as does the 57, though the pedal arms are much different. Your setup sounds like it is from a 56.
The problem arises because all Ford parts use the same numbers just the prefixes change.
The first picture is typical 57 Thunderbird (similar to 56 Ford)
The second picture is 57 Ford and the last is 58/9 pedal.
Macs auto parts sell the same pedal for the years 57-9.
It all gets a bit confusing, but to replace your pedal you will probably need a 56.

I had to modify my original. Hope this makes it clear.

Funny thing, my 58 Edsel has the same set up as the first picture. It is a first run car built early in the production run (1st or 2nd day).

I also have a 58 Edsel that has the accelerator pedal in the first pictorial.

I have not been able to find this style as a replacement pedal.

Not only does it attach to the pedal by that round ball on the linkage as a compression fit,the pedal is much longer than the normal Ford pedal.

I cut two Edsel pedals that were bad in half to make one good one.

Is there a source for this pedal.I would love to have a new one.

Thanks Rick for the pictures!
Now I can see that my car has the accelerator linkage to the left in the second picture but
the new gaspedal is for the system at the right that looks like a spoon,. on the same Picture.
Which car dealer can have a pedal for the linkage with the the hole at the end of the rod?
Most pictures on internet are taken from the front side of the gaspedals so Its difficult to see if they will fit.

Thanks for all help

I would think that it will be hard to get a replacement pedal as it us a one year part. It may be easier to replace the pedal assembly with the alternative linkage.
The people to talk to are Tee Bird Products or Ford Road Parts Store. The people on the phone have good knowledge of the parts they sell - especially Toby at FRPS as he is heavily involved with the Crown Vic Assn.
