Accelerator Linkage

I've been trying to determine why my Cabriolet has so much less power than my Roadster. Today, I just happened to look at how much pedal travel ther is and how much it opened up the carburetor. I discovered that the roadster opens the carb all the way to the stop and the cabriolet only opens about halfway. I've never seen anything like this before. Does anybody know of a way to adjust how far the linkage will open up the carburetor?

You might check one linkage against the other while removed?

My truck has the threaded end of the linkage (where the button threads on) broken and I have made various attempts to re-build this portion by welding on new stock and then threading. Rather than a shoulder to seat the button on I have used a nut. It doesn't really allow adjustment of how much linkage shows above the floor board, but I did get a single choice of how far above the floorboard I wanted the button to appear.

Perhaps yours has been modified similarly? Or it may be just bent from lead footed drivers.
