AAA - is it worth it?

I've had AAA for about 15 years. They've taken several of my cars home for me plus a couple of starts (from dead batteries).

We use them every year for their travel guides and maps. Sometime we've even booked a hotel through them.

We seem to get a fair value in return for the membership.

This is not what the towing policy is for....it is to provide towing from where you have broken down to one place of repair. I talked to AAA last year and there is concern about folks using it to transport cars back and forth between facilities.

Like others I have the 100 mile version as 5 miles doesn't get me where I want. Besides the other services, I've used it to get a car from my garage to a place to do work. Always requested a flat bed and operators have taken extra care because it was a collector vehicle.
Wont leave home without it.

For AAA to tow (or flatbed) car must be registered and insured and hopefully disabled. Ex: flat w/no spare, pull the coil wire (won't start), just a few. Breakdown + transport. If a +RV or premier member you can have car towed anywhere within your 100 mi radius.
