AA u joint

You did not say which year, the 28-29 have 2 different sizes, and the 30-31 have even larger joints and several different joints, I have all of them I can measure for you.
 
I measured a 4-speed output shaft and came up with 1.312 +- with six splines.
Is your u-joint 6 X 6 or 6 X 10 splines.

I measure 1.215 as per your first measurement and 1.312 as per Bob C, the other figure is 1.330, but is not where the washer goes on my joint, however it is for a AA with 4 speed trans, can you post a pic of both ends?.
 
If it's six splines on both ends it's for putting a 4-speed in a model A or can be
used to put a 28-29 Warford behind a 4-speed in a AA.

SO; a 28 AA with a three speed and 'dual high' under drive would have a six-splined (both ends) u-joint like a car,..right?

The AA with 3-speed used two u-joint - standard "A" u-joint behind the transmission; a 6x10 spline u-joint behind the coupling shaft, dual high transmission, or '28/'29 Warford).

The AA with 4-speed used one u-joint - a 10x10 spline u-joint behind the coupling shaft or '30/'31 Warford.

There is after market stuff also.

Thanks Neil, that's the info I was looking for. Are the 6X10's hard to find?

Can a 30-31 warford be used on a ‘29 AA? (Assuming you use a 6x10 spline u-joint between the 3speed trans and warford). I’m having issues getting the warford to slide forward enough into the u-joint for the 2 halves of the u-joint cover to fit properly.

I see you are in Virginia, if going to Hershey, stop at my spot, I'll have a 6 x 10 at the booth...


I also have the later 'partible' U-Joint used in the 30-31
