AA transmission

I have a 29 AA that I'm just getting back to working on. It has a 3 speed trans with the high and low selector. When I let the clutch out, the high/low section is loose and clunks. Is there something that could be broken or missing that connects it to the back of the trans? I'm new to the site so forgive me if I ask stupid questions. Any help is appreciated.
 
You should post this in the main forum, you posted in a section for questions to the editors. There is no such thing as s stupid question but dumb mistakes are common and bad. Welcome to the barn.
