I want to sew my own side curtains for my 28 Phaeton, so I can make them as close to original as possible. So, I need to buy a good sewing machine and I need to learn how to sew.

A week ago I didn't even know what a Singer Model 66 was, but now know that it was the common well built Singer that was made from the 1800's to about 1960. Tuesday I bought a 1928 Singer Model 66 on Craigslist for $10. It's missing the drive belt, but has the carrying case.

There is a Model 66 on ebay now that still has several hours to go and is over $250. It has no carrying case nor cabinet. The ad is well written and shows many good pictures. ebay # 230491895320

Just goes to show what a good writeup and good pictures can do to sell an item.

If you do an ebay search for "Singer 66" you can see what they sell for when you don't use the word "INDUSTRIAL".
