We recently bought this photo along with a side view of one of the most interesting Custom-Bodied Model T Coupes I have seen in over fifty years. Stop by The Old Motor to see both of photos, which were taken in San Francisco, CA during 1920 and more infomation.

If anyone has a right front fender similar to those above please let me know.I,m looking for 1 for my 1920 "AUTOWA" bodied roadster. Thanks,Jim

Where the heck is MENDETA, IL ?? LOL Used to live in Darien/Lemont/Lockport. Do those Autowa fenders mount just like a T? ws

I spelled it wrong,it's MENDOTA.1 hr south of Rockford,100 miles west of Chicago,80 miles east of the Mississippi River.I grew up in Downers Grove, have relatives in Lemont and did a lot of junk yarding in Lockport,Joliet.Going to Oliver Steinhause's was the best on RT83 north of RT 171/archer ave.Yes the fenders mount like a T.There are a few variations of them. Thanks,Jim

I remember the MUD road into Steinhouses place well... right past a line of '57 chevies with trees growing through them ! I had a 1962 Impala SS at the time and needed a hood, I think. (1971?) He never wanted to part with anything. He died about 10 years ago and his kids SCRAPPED the entire 50 acre parcel and bull dozed it flat. Its now an extension of the industrial park on Jeans Road. DuPage auto wreckers across Rt83 is the same. A nice plot of well polluted land. I used to work at Hannah Marine Terminal as a kid... now defunct. A lot of dirt under that plow pal!
For many many years we'd also attend the Mendota Corn Fest with a motorcycle club from Chicago I road with ... Hog Ridin' Fools to name one. I had to rib you about the mispelling.
Im now in Two Rivers Wi and will keep an eye peeled for some fenders, but dont keep yer hopes up LOL... ws

There was also Jerry's Valley auto wreckers and Bob Biley's auto wreckers just south of Steinhauses.Oliver passed on about 15 years ago,his son Charlie opened up to the public to actually sell off stuff. He was then then killed helping a stranded motorist somewhere around Romeoville I believe, hit with a car.So then the remaining family had to have it cleaned out.I took about 60 photos,a friend of mine took about 200 photos before it was leveled. There was still a lot of good parts in there.

Good picture Tim. Thanks. Need to get the side profile picture brought over to here from the Old Coach web sight. I don't know how to do it.
