Try to get hold of the book "How To Build A Traditional Ford Hot Rod" by Bishop and Tardel. That will answer a lot of questions, and probably cause you to ask a lot more questions. It's been the source of inspiration for me for the past few years.

The Bishop & Tardel book is a great read. I've read it several times and continue to use it for reference. If you really want to be inspired and are ever in the Santa Rosa, CA area, make it a point to visit The Tardel Ranch. I was there in October and thought I had arrived in Flathead Heaven. Vern let me go through his entire operation and take any pictures I wanted to take. There were AV8's and '32 highboys everywhere (it seemed)! Vern also spent time with me showing me many little tricks that he has developed over the years. He also got out all his picture albums that were filled with of all the cars he has built and spent time explaining their construction details. What a great day for me that I will never forget!

To answer your question about steering, No the stock steering box will not fit in its stock location. If you are intent on using the A box it will need to be relocated furher back into the frame and a longer draglink installed. Then of course you need to shorten the steering shaft and mast.
