I though someone would get a chuckle from this.
One of my regular customers was in today, a pleasant little lady with an obvious love for old cars...so I let her stay for a bit
As she was reminiscing about her old dad's cars...the Model A, the Nash and a few others, she related this story.
It turns out they lived in a small town in Winnipeg Manitoba and her father had an old 30's something Whippet car which he drove about a mile to work every day.
As he was driving one morning, he noticed a new noise...a chirping sound.
Next day the chirp was back, but louder, each time he hit a rut...chirp chirp chirp. He hangs his head out the window (cuz the mirror's busted off) and looks back to see a BIRD frantically flying along above his rear window
At work he shuts off the Whippet, but STILL hears the chirping.
As the story goes he climbed up on the running board and found a NEST of eggs and young uns in the ratty old top.
Momma continued to feed the baby birds, undisturbed, for several days at his job parking lot...back & forth with bugs & critters...then each day she frantically chased the Whippet home!
I have such excellent customers who tell me these stories...always after spotting my Model A in the shop.
True or not...they're all good
