From experience just because an engine is stuck doesn't mean it isn't a choice for a rebuild. The engine in my CCPU looked like it came out of the bottom of a lake when I got it and took a sledge hammer and a 2x4 to get the pistons out. However, once it was apart had it magnafluxed....no cracks and bored the cylinders. The engine came out fantastic and you would never think it would have been a usable block. Lots of time, energy and below grease got it done!
I have two options
The one in the car that is stuck even after lots of MMO, many tries to get it to move, removal of the head and pan that resulted in my finding some rust on the bottom end - including rust on the cam
Or the $100 special that is not stuck, needs boring, and the cam looks OK
we are going to start with evaluating the second motor and move to the other if we find too much wrong. My guess is that the second motor will be the one we rebuild but we'll see
BTW This thread has been very helpful
