A Man Down on the FordBarn

Sorry to hear of your Dads passing. You are blessed to have had a Dad who spent so much time with you. Many never had the opportunity to have such fond memories. Bill

X 2 - Cherish the time you had together.........may your father rest in peace.

I have to say I have met some great friends during the time I have been a member of the old and new Fordbarn and Henry "Reds" Horrocks was definitely one of those good friends. I knew of Henry from seeing his FB posts and his name in the EFV-8 Club RG-36 newsletters, but we actually met at a Barner's Bash/Gathering that TomT put together in Williamsburg, VA, I believe in 2009/10. We quickly became friends and enjoyed helping each other find parts for and work on our old Fords together. We also attended several EFV-8 Meets and other Fordbarn gatherings and tours together. I am also happy to say that becoming friends with Henry also allowed me to meet and become friends with his son Jeff. It was always good to see a true father and son bonding between Henry and Jeff with the common thread of owning an early Ford V-8 together. I will certainly miss having Henry as a friend....RIP.

Sorry for your loss. Nothing more to say really. Grieve and then take a nice long drive in the 36. Peace be with you.

Jeff,
Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your Dad, and know that I was honored to know him for quite a long time. He bought a 75 or 76 FLH Harley from me back when my wife wouldn't let me have more than 5 motorcycles at one time, and I was sad to sell it. One day at Carlisle, I bumped into him again, and the bike was completely restored to the 10th degree. I even considered buying it back, since he was trying to to sell it at Carlisle. The price was quite a bit more than I sold it for, as I remember. Fast forward to three and a half years ago, when we re connected in the National Capitol Region chapter of the Early V8 club. I even got to sit with him most of the recent Brookville show for my 35's first outing. He will be greatly missed, not only on the Barn, and the V8 club, but all of society included. In spite of his ailments, he always had something funny to say, and looked forward to the next event. I know his memory will live on for a long time.
All the best to you and family in this tough time.

Condolences non your loss. I suppose there is some reassurance in that you were able to do all that stuff together before he passed. That does count for a lot.

Sad news.

Mart.

Jeff we sure are sorry to hear about your Dads passing .we always enjoyed his company at our club events. We sure will miss him BOB AND ROSALIE

Glad you have the "good times" to reflect on. They surely make the bereavement less devastating. Many of us don't have that level of enjoyment for support.

Jeff,
I know I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Henry was a great guy that Kathie and I will always remember. He showed up on the blue ridge tour and we had a picnic in the mountains, simple fun. Treasure the time you had together, Chuck & Kathie.

It seems that many people knew & liked your father, that in itself should comfort you somewhat. Just remember the good times you had with him & be thankful that he did not suffer a long time like my father did.
Gary.

Jeff, So sorry for your loss. As someone who does a lot of car stuff with his dad I can relate. Like someone else here said he will still be riding with you.

Jeff...So sorry to hear of your father's passing. I so enjoyed visiting with Henry at Auburn. You could certainly tell that he was having the time of his life sharing and making memories with you! Praying for you.

Warm Regards,
Pat & Candy
