I had removed my windscreen for refurbing, new rubber and re-paint, when I had stripped it down I had an idea, why not get it chromed..........
I phoned my usual chromer for a quote and decided to paint it, then had second thoughts, and, as I had already spent a small fortune thought ah well what`s a few more beer tokens so put it in to be chromed...........
Come the day to pick it up and I thought it was well worth it, pleased as punch.............
Then the problems started, glass fitted ok but the frame wouldn`t go back together, then the hinge wouldn`t fit, I didn`t bank on the amount of difference the triple plating would make, anyway no matter what I tried it wasn`t going to work, I even bought an aluminium hinge and tried fitting that without the rubber seal at the top, nope..........
At the moment I am stuck, do I get it stripped back to base metal, there is an aluminium frame, new, on Ebay, do I go there............
I will be well out of pocket either way, a dilemma...........of my own making.
