A bad day with the "A"'s

So here I am venting. Took the coupe for gas today and a bendix bolt came loose requiring a crank start at the gas pump island. Usually starts on the first pull, but decided to flood requiring several cranks and a really healthy blister on the palm of my hand. Wildly entertaining to the on-lookers though.
Afternoon goal to install rear fenders on resto project tudor. Origional body, fenders, running boards. Nothing screwed with, just paint, but alas, it was a major wrestling match getting all the holes lined up right and back together despite being perfectly aligned coming apart. Go figure. Last gripe: CRAP fender hardware from a reputable vender. Course threads and carraige bolts with the square part too large to seat properly in the holes. Geez, c'mon. If you're going to sell stuff, at least make sure it's the right size! There, I'm done. Thanks for listning. Still better than being at work.

Ahhh, yes. We all have those days I'm sure. Sorry to hear about the gas pump endeavor. But at least you got it going. You know what they say, even a bad day in a Model A is..... eh, you know!

Here's to better days!

When I first got my coupe I was taught to give it half hand throttle while starting.... well, that floods the crap out of it but at the time I didn't know it. I flooded it BAD at the local corner store and had to pull the plugs, dry them off etc....

Of course my "fancy" car attracted onlookers and naysayers but in the end I got it home.

Also I learned I don't have to touch the throttle while starting. Retard spark, choke, crank once, let out choke, fire up.

Onlookers = Push Start. Although you have to pull a Huck Finn and convince them that it really isn't work....
