a 400 experts.........

this is already over 16k and I am a bit surprised, knowing what it needs. But, they dont come up that often either!

Hello again, I agree with you Brent , thick wallet helps a lot , then find someone talented enough to replicate it correctly, but probably would not be cost effective. As I was referring to the car on EBay was originally an A400 ,but in poor condition, it would make a good restoration -reconditioning project. I saw at a flea market one time a cut up Tudor trying to pass off as an A400 it was horrible. If not involved in the 31 roadster and looking for a project I would be interested in it . To me antique cars and equipment are historical artifacts first and monetary value secondary.

rarity obviously doesnt always translate into $. A better one sold on BAT 2 yrs ago for 22k. I would have preferred it.

Two years ago, had inflation really affected Model-As? I think the prices we are going to see in the near future will be even higher, ...especially for really nice Model-A restorations. A really nice restored Model-A in these times is what dictates 'rare', -and not the bodystyle

interesting comments- I agree with both points.

has anyone noticed the Harley mkt? It has been decimated. nobody wants them.
the older guys cant ride them any longer. the young fellas dont want them.

Swings in market are generally good for those segments. The pendulum of the Clock always swings in the opposite direction after a certain amount of time. That is good. It is when the Clock's pendulum stops moving that it is no longer a good thing. History has proven itself that Model-A values have always risen to higher levels than they were in the previous decade on like condition vehicles. I learned my lesson on this trend nearly 60 years ago when I was about 8 years old. In the last 6 decades, I have watched this, so I feel comfortable in saying this.

The Harley fad has likely piqued somewhat, but didn't H/D corporate get onto a political wokeness trip that likely turned off many of its customer base? Wait another period of time and economy, and they will be back just as strong or stronger.

They implemented some DEI, diversity, equity, and inclusion programs that the "public" didn't like. I say "public" since I'd imagine a lot of the outraged people were not even customers, but many were. It wasn't a "wokeness" trip.

well my two sons are in their 30s. Neither has an interest in model As or harleys. the older one owns a Yamaha 2 cylinder enduro. he tells me it is the rage with guys his age. He rents it out for several days or even weeks each month, to folks from Europe. He had a fella from Switzerland rent it last month for 3 weeks. He only rides occasionally and
only rents to those 40 and over, because he doesnt want it thrashed.

when I pass, my As will go for pennies on the dollar, but honestly, I dont care. The only monetary interest I have in my cars, is trading them up- not for the cash. I enjoy finding rarer stuff and trading out the more common models.
