93 p/s pump

anybody here work on crown vics.im replacing the pump with a 95.my 93 has a sensor for something on the pump .anyone know what its for or what will happen if I leave it of.

I got the answer its their to rev up the engine when you turn the wheels.ive been driving car since 55 with p/s and didn't have it so I guess ill be alright.

You may want it, a 4.6 is very sensitive to load changes. May possibly set a code.

Craig is probably right. I know the cars w/sensors in the ps line will set a code if left unplugged.
