8BA radiator options - suggestions?

Take a look at Championcooling.com I have one of there's in my'52 truck (8BA) and love it. However it is a polished finish. Has a great warranty and free "quick" shipping. Well worth taking a look at.

If I do go through with the aluminum one they will likely be where I go. In the meantime just found out exactly what the rad shop said about the one brought to them. They got leaks fixed but said its rather plugged up...not surprised since it ORIGINALLY had straight well water in it which over the years would have slowly evaporated and plugged it up...plus anything else left recently (within last year) that wouldn't leak out.

Going to pick up the oldie tomorrow and see about rodding it out this weekend.

It's a conglomerate more or less. Made using components from 2 similar year vehicles. The frame + engine and drivetrain are out of an early 50s Mercury (as my dad recalls...put it together in the early 60s while he was in his 20s). The core firewall was also retained. From the 2nd vehicle only the drive axle + part of the frame beginning with the front spring perch to just beyond the rear hangar. It's tandem drive using an overhead shaft between the axles that make use of sprockets and #60 chain.

Rest of the body is homemade with 3/16 or 1/4" angle iron making up the basic shape while 14ga (looks like) sheet skins it. Some of the pieces only visible on the inside are clearly re-purposed scrap. Images can be seen at this thread. About halfway down the page.

Ignore the temporary wheels as they are there just long enough to get proper replacements. It's going to get a coat of OD soon enough.
