8ba nightmare

Could be worse... when I snapped off my dizzy bolt I removed the head to make the repair and snapped off 3 head bolts =(
I was able to fix that with the engine still in the car thanks to a link I found on Reds Heads Web site. Good luck
Randy

Thank you gentlemen I appreciate all the information.
I'm going to plug the hole, just was concerned about metal shavings when drilling and tapping getting inside block. The head is the easy part.

Coat the drill bit and tap with thick grease. The chips should come out with the bit and tap.

And magnetize the tip of the drill bit. Since your drilling cast iron you won't get any chips, just fine powder.

Update: Repair is completed, Heli-Coil on head and plugged hole in block.
Started right up, no issues, no head bolts leaking or seeping.:D

Took awhile for it to get up to running temp, kinda weird.
tomorrow re-torque both heads,

Still runs rich, misses at high RPM's.
Distributor is old and just needs to be replaced.
May try to shim fuel pump also.

Thanks to everyone for your help, really appreciate it.
