Is the bottom of the lifter concaved or convex?

Convex.
.0002 for all practical purposes.

Yes, they are convex. Based on the Ford spec of 96" radius my calculation of segment height is about .0013.

The convex curvature allows the lifters to rotate....to reduce wear.

If they are concave they are defective. Might explain why they are still around in NOS condition.
