8BA Compression Test - Is it worth and an engine strip down?

Pretty good. An occasional spit back in the carby when quickly flooring the throttle.

Typically this is due to the accel pump not putting out enough 'squirter' fuel or not enough at the right time. It is usually related to the mixture going LEAN until the main fuel delivery dump-tubes (main circuits) can catch up.

You might check your accel pump and see if it is squirting correctly (do it with the engine not running first!).

It can also be timing . . .

Good thought.

I wish my 8BA had those numbers. I'm still driving it but my numbers are way lower then yours. If it wasn't for the smoke billowing from under the hood and low to no oil pressure I would leave mine alone. I say let it roll and enjoy it. Tim
