Hi, I recently picked up a couple Flathead V8's. One is an 8ab and while cleaning it I see a crack, running from a valve seat to a cyl. Is that very common ? Anything to do about it ? Thank You. CKain
 
Yes, this is very common. To repair it, bring it to a local shop that can stitch it.
 
Yes common. We use to fix a lot of them back in the day. We used tapered cast iron pins over lapped half way. Then put in a cylinder sleeve, and a valve seat.
