My stock 51 Ford air filter top section was coming apart, the screen that holds the horse hair stuff was failing, so here is my fix... I have been running this for many years and it works good.
K&N E-2488 filter
cut apart the top and trim with tin snips
add some filler to the bottom of the housing
more fillers
