Running flathead 8RT 8BA. Engine.
Has the 53 truck front mount, and 53 only bellhousing.
And stepped oil pan like the mercurys. The person I picked this up from started to paint it red, apparently because the heads had evidence of red paint on them but I can see that underneath is the 53 green. Engine is pretty clean so minimal work and you could have it cleaned up and painted to your liking. Was stored in a heated shop for years along with another ford FE engine I picked up and dont need them both.
I hooked up the radiator and ran it for about 1/2 hr.
Then did a compression test. As follows.
#1 107 2 105 3 106 4 108 5 108 6 97 7 102, 8 108
Oil pressure about 40 and 25 hot idle.
Vacuum about 15 to 17 at idle (elevation 4700)
Asking $1250 obo
fan to bellhousing but carb and fuel pump I'd like to keep but not firm.
Fastenal shipping is pretty reasonable probably 250 ish east coast 175 west coast?
