8 or 10 leaf spring

A friend tried that years ago on his tudor & it sat to low & would bottom out if he had a couple passengers in back.

Are you having problems with a rough ride?? Sometimes over the years the springs can get in pretty rough shape.. With the springs working over the years they will cut into and wear a ridge in the spring below each other.. Then when the spring really needs to 'spring' it can't as the spring can't work past the ridge.. Plus these things can get all rusty and 'sticky'.. Many times they can be pulled apart and cleaned and ground smooth.. Put them back together with a little oil or grease on each leaf and they'll ride like new,, well,, almost like new..

I can't tell you how many leafs my '30 tudor has now but I removed 3 leaves from the original in order to lower the rear, and I like the way it rides. If you remove any leaves, retain the top one as it is contoured to fit into the crossmember.

no rough ride until i change rearend and it had a 6 leaf spring it was very bouncey.just thought i could get away with my old 8 leaf it came withe car,
