Anyone has information on old S/W fuelpumps.
I has een this style and it should be 40’s, and this other one should be 50’s but the specefic years ?
I has a x4 intake and it can't fit a Ford std older or newer tube/fuelpump ( 32 and a std firewall ) but as a racer and 40's style, I can use a electric ( I has 6V ) and era is late 40's or into 1950.

The pump on the right looks like the old WALBRO 6Volt model. Back in the 1970's I used them but found them to be very unreliable. Don't even think about using it. Once the diaphragm dissolves from the gas they are useless and the gas leaks out of them BIG TIME. So are those dial pressure regulators. Get hold of a good 6V pump will tolerate ethanol gas.

Yes old parts can cause one big issues ( as the whole my car ) is a bunch of old Really expensive cracked parts.
But fuel both in a garage or outside running with hot exhaust can be a mayor fire.
The guy I bought the 30's mechanical fuel pump said I need replace the diaphragm once at a while.
-So with that in mind, what is the real difference.

I had allot of issues on my intake situation in this project...

My new intake don't allove the mechanical pump and I will not get the firewall modifications.

So if just has this pump as a cover, is there any 6V pumps one can use in tank that allove our fuel ?

#W Hank: There are in tank pumps but, they are all 12V. Look here:

It is safe to install an electric pump inside the frame rail close to the tank and away from the exhaust heat. I also wrap heat shield insulation around the exhaust. Works fine. Here's a pump you might consider:

Thanks on info.
But I wounder if it create the volyme and pressuare less the working std mechanical pump.
Or a ’assist’ pump.
I remember in the 80’s I run my 383 in NHRA stock we needed to use the std mechanical pump and added a Carter, that was legal.
Now I use dual line 1/2” teflon lines and pro stock pump and regulators and check pressuare by 15K Racepack computors.
We asked for it…
Sometimes the fun is over, thats why I now build a Hot-Rod with ’try to use’ old parts.
Back to the future.
