'64 T Bird ******

My father has a '64 Bird with a 390 and 3 speed auto trans.
Which ****** did Ford put in those cars?

I've read that it could be a C4, C6 or FMX. But I also have read that the FMX didn't come out till '67.

How can I tell which one it has?

Your dad's Thunderbird came equiped with a medium case Cruise-O-Matic.
C4 came out in 1964, but only behind straight 6's and small block V8's. C6 came out in 1966 and the FMX in 1968.
