Can anybody tell me the easiest/ best way to install a glove compartment box into the dash of a '64 Fairlane.

I don't specifically know about a Fairlane, but I have put glove boxes in three cars (all Fords) that I have and they were all the same.

You put them in from under the dash. Angle them up from the back of the dash and make sure that the holes for the screws go behind the metal side, upper and lower pieces that surround the opening..

I dont want to tell you wrong so let me check more. I have a 64 fairlane so I will check it tonight and see whats up .

I got my new glove box today and I can't see how it can go in with the heater in place, what's the trick?

My box was torn up and I at this point not sure if there is a best way to install it. At least you can bend it around a little .

I got the glove box in today. I took the nuts off and let the heater drop out of the holes, slid the new box thru the opening, put it in place with no screws, slid the heater in place, put the nuts back on, then put the screws in the box. Worked like a charm once I figured out the proper procedure. Thanks for the responses.
