62' T-bird ignition switch

How is the ignition switch secured to dash? I can't see how it comes out and don't want to mutilate the chrome. It is spring loaded somehow and has a notch it lines up in when centered. I am loosing voltage when the key is turned to the start position. Neutral safety switch checks out and the start relay is new and cranks engine when jumped from battery. The switch is next step but it needs to come out to check it. I do have the tumblers out but still don't see how the front retainer releases from the switch body. We've tried to unscrew it if it's threaded but no luck.

if it is like some others there is a little hole in the face you have to put a paperclip or some sort of pin in the hole push it in while turning the key it should release

On the 54 and 55 models, a tool can be made to press in on the bezel and turn 1/4 turn against spring pressure. Then it all falls out. Disconnect the battery first.

Reach behind the dash and push the switch body into the dash against spring pressure. You should then be able to turn the bezel or the switch body counter clock wise a small amount (about llike removing a tail light bulb) and it will come off.
