62 Galaxie Front Brakes

Yesterday I got around to installing disc brakes on my 62 Galaxie. I pulled the hubs and then the backing plates as a single until. The drums and shoes are in good shape and the cylinders were rebuilt a few months ago. All of the self adjusters, springs etc were never removed. If anyone is restoring a car these are available. Maybe place this in the FOR SALE THREAD and it will be seen by more people and last longer.

The kit was from Leeds. It went together easily but I would have used Wilwood had I know the bearings and races were from China. It was Sunday and I went ahead and used them but they wont last. The rest of the kit fit fine, I just fail to understand using cheap bearings as it makes them look bad.

As for the drums being for sale they arent. I was going to give them away if somebody came by. I guess I would ship them if someone was willing to pay my son to build a box and take them to Fedex.

The reason(s) are $$$.

A 'little diddy they don't give in the listing.

Most of these 'kits' are sourced from off-shore parts sources and boxed.

WILWOOD (and a few others are premium).

In the olden days ... ... one would pull the OEM parts from a salvage yard. Quality parts were available everywhere.

THANX! for the heads-up on LEEDS.
