62 Galaxie 500 tudor post, black on black, original paint and interior. Always garage kept, 2nd owner past 20 years. Absolutely mirror straight, not so much as a parking lot ding, and no rust anywhere. Glass is excellent, chrome is good but not perfect. No rips in seat covers or door panels; needs headliner repair. Correct 406 badging. Overall a very impressive survivor, presentable anywhere.
The drivetrain is a 70's 390 truck block (same lower webbing as a 428 SCJ) now displacing 416 c.i. with a FoMoCo 428 crank, Ross pistons, ARP fasteners throughout, balanced. Edelbrock aluminum heads have been flowed, CC'd, port matched to a Ford 428 aluminum intake with a Holley 750 dbl. pumper. (Could use an 850.) Roller rockers, valve train stabilizers, and a custom ground Lunati solid lift roller cam. Milodon pan and windage tray, Hooker SuperComp headers. Engine was line bored, decked, and professionally built, dynoing at 470 hp with lots left.
Trans is a C-6 with shift kit, 3600 stall Coan converter. 3.89 suregrip rear.
This car came out of Floyd County, Va., notorious moonshine capital of the Appalachians and subject of a recent movie. I am the second owner. When I got the car it had a heavy torsion bar in front and additional springs in the rear. The engine was a 390 though the car was originally 352 powered. Plain jane, everyone's first impression is that it was a cop car. It's true history is unknown but I think it's a shame this car can't talk. My guess is it played on one side or the other of the moonshine wars.
Too many cars, not enough storage. I refuse to let this car sit outside. Priced very reasonably at $12,500. Pat Deason; 912-266-2566
