I finally cured the water leaks from the tapered water pumps on my 60hp. Coming back from Vermont earlier this year, I noticed oil leaking from the weep hole at the bottom of the front cover and at the front of the pump shaft. Also oil in the coolant, but only a slight amount (fortunately no evidence of coolant in the pan). I've rebuilt the pump with kits, replaced the two gaskets numerous times (at $6.50 a pop is getting pricey), but still leaking. What am I overlooking? Any suggestions? Otherwise she runs great.
