60HP fuel pump

Am I correct that the fuel pumps on the 60 and 85 HP engines were the same? Standard size pump, not the small top pump as used on the 34 engine. My continuing thanks for answers to my never ending questions. I'm still learning.

The fuel pump on the 60 hp engine was smaller in diameter than on the 85 hp engine. It was like the 34-early 35 (40-9350) pump only clocked slightly different. It is documented in the 1937 Early Ford V8 book.

Do you need one? I think I have a couple of cores.

Yeah Zeke. I need one for the 60HP I'm restoring for the V8 Museum. Would you believe I had two of them and got rid of them maybe 3 months ago cause I figured at my age I'd never use them. I must have had 'em for 50 years. Never get rid of nothing.

Pictures of 52-9350-B fuel pumps, the one on the left is an AC and the one on the right is a Holley. The top cover is 2 1/16" diameter.

Hi all, I need some help identifying our '38 fuel pump. It looks like the pics from Zeke3, but the bowl measures 2-1/4" OD. It also does not have a bleeder. If the pumps in the pics have the check-valve retainer plate then this one clearly does not and cannot since there are no screw holes.

The only identifying marks I have are FP-482-C on the bowl and FP-730 on the base. Pics of my pump are below. Before I bought the Ford Chassis Parts Catalogue I bought a rebuild kit, 11A-9349, from Ecklers. It is incomplete as Ecklers showed 3 gaskets and the only gasket supplied is too small for the cap and the screen is useless. I was led to believe the kit would work for pumps with and without the sediment bowl but this clearly isn't going to work with what came in the box.

The parts catalogue indicates the 60HP fuel pump part number should be 52 9350-B with rebuild kit 68 9349. The pump I took apart looks for all the world like the exploded view of the 11A-9350 in the catalogue with the exception of the bleeder and the check valve retainer. Maybe the larger bowl indicates it is the 11A version?

Most of the component parts are the same for both pumps except for the check valves on the 60 and the gaskets for the cap and screen. My check valves are either lacquered in from sitting for 15 years or they are pressed in. I haven't soaked them in carb cleaner yet to compare with the ones in my kit.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

-Dan
