Anyone know if the 1960 F100 actually came with a factory AC option? Trying to add a/c to an original truck with the exhaust crossover and don't want to 'rig' something to work. Would like to use OEM stuff, if it exists and can be found. Thanks. neilellington57@gmail.com

Ford did not have AC on the trucks until the late 60s. The cars had factory AC and had the same crossover exhaust pipe issue so you should be able to find mounts for the compressor.

Ford cars didn't use the crossover pipe after 1956, and the only 55-6 fords I ever saw with AC had dual exhaust; I think you will have to do away with the crossover pipe in order to install any AC system available, stock or after market. Good luck!

292 trucks used the crossover up to the end of the Yblock(64).Cars with Yblock used a y pipe behind the engine after 58 or 59.

Ford did not offer factory AC in their trucks until about 1967-68.. The '57-66 F100/250, etc. generally had after market AC with the unit hanging under the center of the dash.. If the truck was a four speed the stick had to be heated and bent into a very lazy S. The compressor, a York Style vertical unit, mounted on the of the right front corner of the engine, over the generator and cross over pipe.
I had a '64 F250 w/292 for about 18 years, it had Mark 4 air from the time it was new, dealer installed..
About twenty years ago I restored the truck, removing the AC, and sold the truck to my nephew. He still has the truck, it has over 500,k on it... I think I still have the AC in box on the shelf..
