6 Volt vs 12 Volt

Maybe someone can shed some light here on this subject. Im not opposed to a 6 volt system at all, been running on on my 40 for years and have good headlights but they are sealed beams. I was contemplating changing my 39 Zephyr to 12 Volts when I finished it for better headlights ,they are like the Fords with a lense and a bulb. I noticed that the 12 volt bulbs for 35-39 are all 50-32 candlepower 6 volt and 12 volt. Question here is there a real advantage to converting to 12 volts.

Ken,

How about some 12 volt 175/75 CP bulbs (Item B-2337) from Ron Francis (http://www.ronfrancis.com/searchprods.asp?searchstring=brite&pagenumber=1&sort_on=&sort_by=)?
I think the 175 is with special wiring (both filiments burning). Maybe you can just put them in your stock sockets and get 125/75 (you need to ask them). I am running some of his bulbs in my '32 and very happy with them but I have had them so long (25 years) I am not sure if these are the same ones I have. I hope his quality is still what it was when I bought mine. I assume the Lincoln uses the same bulbs as the Ford.
