6 Volt Tach

Has anybody looked at the using a 12v tach in conjunction with a positive ground power inverter? vintageautoradio.com makes power inverters for running 12v negative ground radios and other items in 6 volt positive ground car systems.

The last flathead I put a tach on was a '53 Coupe in about '67, nothing special about it, it had a selector button inside to turn to 4,6 or 8 cyl, and all I changed was the 12V bulb to 6V. It worked fine on 6V, give it a try! ..B.

I checked with Steve Weber of Vintage Auto Radio (vintageautoradio.com) and he verified an electronic 12V tach will work on a 6 volt positive ground system when using their positive ground 6v power inverter unit ($99.00). At least you'll have a wider variety of tachs to choose from. Check the electrical specs of the inverter against the 12v tach unit first.
