Could someone post a couple of photos of the guts of a 6 volt cut out and a 6 volt voltage regulator? Thanks - Smitty

That looks like a Model A Ford cut out to me. The question that I am wondering about is if there is a voltage regulator that will fit in our Willys cars. Some early 30's Chevys have a resistor on the light switch that reduces the voltage to the field winding in the generator when the lights are not on. When the lights are off the resistor lowers the field voltage and the out put of the generator as well. Not the best solution but it seemed to work and not over charge the battery. Companies like FUN PROJECTS make electronic regulators for the 3 brush generators but I don't know if they do so for our generators. Jack

A lot of tractors used the resistor in the light switch also, and it does a pretty good job.
Have you added a tube radio, or fan, or something to require better regulation?

I have custom built internal regulators for a 1929 Stutz, some 1940's tractors, and some 1930's Fords, but don't have time to do that during the summer. Minnesota summers are just too short to get all the work done that I'm hoping to get done.
