A word of caution when selecting the source vacuum.
MOST intakes are “2 plane”, feeding essentially (2) 4-cylinder motors. I found out the hard way when I had idle inconsistencies with my Edmonds 4-bbl intake using the factory vacuum port.
I machined a ¾” carb spacer and bored a passage under the secondaries feeding both sides for PCV vacuum. Since I have a brand X distributor I bored an identical feed under the primaries as a source for the vacuum can.
I have found that our flatty’s like a carb spacer, my ’40 over Merc likes about 1”.
Just my $0.02, hope it provides some food for thought.
