59 Galaxie 500 Looking for Running 292

I'm looking for a good running 292 for my 59 galaxie with a 3 spd manual. I have a fear my existing 292 needs a full rebuild.
I am located in Northern Maryland. Anyone have one available?
I do have a good 260v8 motor I could use. Anyone know about dropping a 260 in the 59 and using the existing 3 spd?
 
the 260 is not very powerful, it would not make a good driver, and i have found getting parts for them can be a little hard

Could be your lucky day.

I was just offered an engine from a 56 pickup truck.

Its either a 292 or a 272. The condition is not yet know but I believe it to be a runner.

The engine is in Balto.Co .

I am going to suggest to you to contact Racer Brown (just Google up his phone number) and give him a call. Ask for Jim.

Tell him you are acting on a tip from Mercury/T Bird John and talk to him about the availiability of the engine and its condition.

He offered it to me earlier today but did not have all of the information about its condition.

Hopefully it will be something you can use.
