I'm working on a 34 1 1/2 ton truck with a 59 AB in it, this one has a steel oil pan, the one I just bought to put in my late 31 pickup has a cast oil pan if I remember correctly, mine was out of a truck but i don't know what the other is out of,is there a difference between early and later engines and oil pans.

Some very early Ford V8s had a cast aluminum pan but the only other ones I've seen are from the French SUMB army trucks. I have seen some 11-inch clutch truck pans that had a removable trap door under the clutch to aid in doing maintenance on them but they were steel pressings like a stock pan but modified just for the big clutch.

32 was the only year with a cast aluminum pan, the very late 32s had stamped steel pans.
