Hi Barners,
My recent purchase of a '57 Bird has a missing part. The car has an original trunk-mount "Ford" antenna. The connecting cable that plugs into the the antenna has a missing end. I believe it should be about 1/2 inch in diameter, and will "snap" in place. The replacement antennas use a screw-in type connector. I am interested in acquiring this end connector so that I can install it on my existing coax antenna feed wire. Any one out there have access to this part???

Thanks,

maybe radio shack do you have a picture does it look like the end that plugs into the radio or the antenna end in other words male or female

Frank,
The look of the end I'm looking for is like the so-called UHF connector. The end I need slips into a hole in the base of the antenna, but has a female receptacle for the pin from the antenna. The hole on my missing connector to receive the antenna pin needs to be about 3/32 inch, in diameter. I have never seen the actual correct connector, so I can't give more of a description.

Hope this is clear.

k1787,
Yes the Bird has a stock T&C radio. It has the trunk-lid mounted antenna, which is an original Ford part.
