Help
To the Early Ford V8 Club of New England,
This is going to be a strange request maybe, but I'm looking for someone in the New England area who owns a 1957 Ford hardtop convertible. It may be called a Galaxie, a Fairlane, or a Sunliner I think. The crucial thing is the convertible hardtop.
The reason I'm looking for a car of this type in this area is that I'd like to do something special for my grandfather's birthday in August. He has repeatedly mentioned that his favorite car when he was younger was a 1957 ford hardtop convertible (though he's been unclear about the name, Fairlane, Galaxie, etc.). But, as a man of little means (a career-long elementary school custodian) raising a family in mid-state Vermont, the car was always out of reach. I'm not sure he ever drove one or rode in one. My grandfather is one of the most special people around, and despite only reaching the 8th grade I think he's taught me the most about living. I'd really like to surprise him on his birthday with a ride in his dream car. He's 85, so his time is getting a bit short, and I think this would really be special for him.
So, if you can help put me in contact with someone who has such a car within drivable distance to the Norwich, VT area, I would be in your debt.
Thanks for your time, I hope for a response, even if it's just to let me know of other clubs/people/places I could ask.
All Best,
Mike
