HI all , im looking to install a factory radio in my 57 pickup and was looking for a dimention from the edge of the glove box opening to the center of the radio, so i can get an idea of where its located. i understand that there were templates for this purpose but im not able to locate any info on them, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks , Joe

The location of the factory radio in a '57-60 F series truck is generally center of the instrument cluster and the glove box. The speaker mounts under the upper portion of the dash with a squire (ish) top mpunted cover.
I currently have two '58-60 radios in my parts stock. The only difference between the '57-60 radios is the color pf the dial face plate and the knobs. The /57-58 are a bronze color with black knobs, '60 is a metalic blue, '59 & 60 have white knobs.
I have had '58 to '60 F 100's, including 4x's in my life since '58, currently have two '59s and one '60. I have a completely re-storerd '59 F100 4x and two additional trucks awaiting restoration.

I don't claim to be an expert on Ford trucks, F-1 and/or F100/350 series. I have owned, and/or own '57/2002 6 cylinder, V8, three on the tree, 4 spd, and automatic trucks, and Broncos. I currently own two '59 F100 4x's 1 '60 F100, a '63 F100 4x, and a '66 F250 4x. During the past thirty plus years I have parted out more than ten '57-79 F series trucks for my restoration projects.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make a statement that sounded as no one here has experience only that you guys show your faces so in-often ... :o

I don't generally respond to questions about body/chassis parts for '52 and later, except for the '55/57 Birds, which I have had a lot of experience with.
Trucks are something that I made my living with, therefore, I have worked on a lot of trucks.
