'57 F-100 heat control

Not sure if mine is correct or if somewhere down the line the heat control was deleted.

I do have 3 holes on inner fender, passenger side where I believe there should be an adjusting valve with a cable that goes inside unless mine was so basic it is wide open when you're running heat/defrost.

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I found this image on the net and believe this is what I am missing if something is indeed missing.

I don’t know how the air flow works on the trucks, but in the birds forward speed moves air thru. So an open heater hose cooks you on the highway in the summer. If the trucks are like that, I’d be adding the shut off back in. Looks pretty straightforward if the heater core itself is still there.

I use a 1978 jeep cj5 heater control valve which is identical to the one in your picture. You might have to modify The on & off portion of the valve based on if it closes the flow by pushing or pulling the cable. I had to modify mine on my 56 F100. The original one closed off the flow of hot water when the cable knob was pushed in, the jeep was opposite so I had to disassemble and rotate the internal valve to work properly.
