'57 engine codes

Was there a engine code "B" for '57? If so, what engine was it?

According to my Ford car parts book, 1957 Engine Code B is a 272 cid V8, 190 horsepower.

My book says 272 2 barrel carb 190 HP.

Ron was a tad faster than me..
