I would like to know how to replace the gold trim on the doors. I started to take the upholstery off the door but noticed it was a fairly solid inner panel so I put it back on. Should I have taken it off all the way or do the moldings just pop off after remouving the 4 screws on the end.
Thanks for any info

The gold trim on the outside is held in place with stickum and the stainless on top of it. You can remove the screws and gently pop a lot of the stainless off with a flat tool under where the other clips are. But you may mess up the paint and bend the trim if not careful.Practice makes perfect when doing this.Might be better if you have a nice car to remove the inner panels and knock the moulding clips out. They more than likely are too rusty to reuse anyway and will need replacing.A lot will break when you try to pop them off.
