56 Victoria..Let's see yours

Was hoping to get her on the road before winter but not gonna happen. Found that the interior seems to have been redone in the 70's as I matched the blue cloth to a 73 Olds vintage. Not sure where they got the vinyl for the seats and door panels as it is also not original. They actually did a decent job on the interior but some mice ruined the back seat and I am going to have to re-do. Body, floors and frame seem to be in excellent shape. I was reading some posts on here talking about how bad these cars rusted when new and I think someone took care of this car...since it was restored anyway. The engine #s indicate a 1956 block. Assuming a 292 since that it what VIN indicates. Still has that ol' oil filled air filter. Runs pretty good but has not been driven in about 15 years. Body wise, there are no dents or dings at all in this car. The paint is nice but not like today's base/clear paint jobs. Guessing it is lacquer? Not bad at all. All chrome is there are in good shape. Bumpers are good. Working on getting some brakes...replaced all wheel cylinders and master. Anyhow, this is my first old Ford and I enjoy reading the info on this site. Trying not to put too much $ in this car but I think it is a fairly desirable model and should be "sellable" in the future. Let's see some others out there.

Yup, it looks very good. Much better than mine did a few years ago. Here it is now:

Seats and a few other pieces aren't all original, but close.

Id like to show you mine but it has two extra doors..
If this is your first, you may want to have a real good look at your front cross member, the one under the radiator that the lower control arms attach.. Rust very bad for rust.
Nice car by the way!

I had real nice 55 Victoria few years ago. your 56 looks nice. try it without skirts and set of crager ss mags . Hubcaps look ok too. be sure and check that front crossmember its a known trouble spot.can be a safety issue.

I LIKE the rear fender skirts. Very classy. '55 Crown Vic and '56 Vic models were the best looking cars to come out of the '50's.

Yeah I like the skirts too. :]'

Hey what happened to those whitewalls??? ;]'

What's the best about it to me is, no B piller!!!

Enjoy your fine ride.

I am also a NO wide whites, NO skirts person too. Cragars - okay but not now. I also like the look of Keystones on the '56s but they're almost too late 60s muscle car crud for me.

Maybe Cragars someday on mine but for now - blackwalls, trim rings and button caps from a '60 Ford works right nicely for me. I can't say there's no such thing as an ugly '56, as I've seen some wild customs that make me want to well. . . They're nice as-is with maybe a few minor personal touches but that's just MHO.

I certainly love it and it is my favorite color combo as well. I had a 55 mainline that was once a Maine state police cruiser and loved the car. When in the service It made several trips back and forth to the state of Georgia and never let me down. Would love to find one like yours and actually following a few on E-Bay now !

I am going to keep the wide whites for now. I took the skirts off to get the wheels off when I was working on the brakes and not sure if I am putting them back on. Diamond blue and white....looks good but I really like that tangerine color I have seen.
