56 Victoria interior

Working on my 56 two door.I have the back seat out being re-done by the upholstery shop. I want to replace the carpet myself. I have not yet ordered the carpet but I was wondering how difficult it is to install. Any info would be appreciated. Also, it seems as though I need heel panels for the rear. The last carpet was installed right up to the bench but I believe the carpet is supposed to meet a panel between the carpet and the face of the bench?? Finally warm enough to get out there and work!

I am also interested in this but im not ready for upholstory or interior work yet,Im still in the blocking and primer stage.please post your interior experience!

I do my own, I buy the carpet at menards. It is called Autobond. It does not have a stiff backing and is fairly easy to shape/form. I cut it to fit and usually do it in two peices. Put the seem under the front seat. Use 3m 90 spray glue to glue it down and work your way from the fire wall back. If you have to make a seem, overlap it and cut both peices at once. They will then fit perfect together. You can also buy premolded carpet from a vendor on ebay for less than $200.00. I did my own for $50.00 counting the glue at $10.00 a can.

I bought prefit and anyone can install it in a few minutes.the real pain when it comes to interiors is the hoodliner.

I hear you on the headliner. Seems like it is tricky not to mention that the rear window has to be removed. Hoping to clean mine up and make it look presentable.

Thanks for the info guys. The car saw the sun today and wants out!
